　ゆふつくよおほつかなきにたまくしげ
　ふたみのうらをあけてこそみめ
　（高野切第一種　伝紀貫之）
 
Translation(English)
　The moon is faint at dusk, hardly seen.
　At dawn, we shall gaze upon Futami no Ura—
　like opening a jeweled comb box to unveil its secret beauty.
